5.4 Diamond Bar Earthquake Rattles Burbank

This was it: a 5.4 in Chino Hills, about 40 miles away. I was in the office, on a call, when everything just started rocking back and forth gently, for about 20 seconds.

The two others I’ve actually felt just made stuff creak, barely, like a door slamming and affecting the air pressure, so they didn’t really count.

I just drove home to check on the house and the dogs, and with the exception of a few picture frames knocked off of shelves, all is well.

It was so exciting and fun. Everyone’s okay.

And to think that fear of earthquakes was a reason I hesitated to move here. Feh!

Why is the press hiding the truth, though?

Glad to hear you survived and nothing major was damaged. I’ve felt a 2.5 which freaked me out. I’ll gladly take slow moving hurricanes over the, “Holy crap it’s the big one” surprises any day. Take care.
