Sam Sparro is More Fun than Rufus, and Free on iTunes

I’m reposting this May 7th post, because this track, Black and Gold, is now available for free on iTunes. You heard about it here first, so now go get it before it’s gone.

This is Sam Sparro, my new musical crush. He’s like Rufus Wainwright on Lexapro and a B-12 shot, and I love him for it. It’s gonna take my Mom right back to Motown, but then it’s hard to listen to new artists these days and not be transported there. Winehouse much?

According to my friend Lisa at Warner Records, Sam has been killing them overseas for a while, but has yet to break here. Well, check him out in Black and Gold above, and the perilous “Cottonmouth” in which he actually uses the word ‘discombobulated’. Now that’s talent.

Totally agree on Sam Sparro, have yet to get my head around Rufus, I don’t get his music that easily, hard to digest. Loving the sound of Sparro though! Still waiting for the day I can use discombobulated in a phrase without stumbling over and over again at this long word!
