Bronson & Sam in Bora Bora

I don’t want to be jacked-in for long, but I wanted to tell you that this is the best place on earth. Of course, it isn’t Summer, but we could really get used to an over-water bungalow and wading in shin-deep ocean water while having morning coffee. Wow, thanks Passport Magazine.

We have made some great friends, Sue, a writer for reality TV, and her partner of 9 years Joy, a personal trainer; David and Michael, the camera man and his partner; and one of the most remarkable women I’ve met in some time – India Brooks, whom I met for the first time in Gainesville, Florida, circa 1987. There’s a passel of people from Pasadena, and some very scared straight couples.

What is it about being here that makes a cowrie bracelet okay? There’s something. Sam and I are having a great time. He has never been more handsome, and was born to wear white linen drawstring pants. I don’t think he’s completely unwound yet, but that is certainly imminent. Yesterday was beautiful, and seemingly endless. We snorkeled over the reef adjacent to the bungalows, took a boat into another little town snuggled at the bottom of a mountain right out of Jurassic Park, and were caught in two torrential rain storms that lasted all of 20 minutes each. You’ve never been into a tiny, local market in a tiny town of indigenous people until you’ve done it with a 6’5″ (in heels) willowy, teutonic blonde like India, with a professional camera man and we, the bronzed entourage, in tow. Those people will never be the same.

Last night, after cocktails, we retired to the bungalow and were essentially rained-in by another torrent, with hurricane-like gusts, this one lasting for hours, through the night. What’s a couple in love, vacationing in an exotic locale to do?

More about our trip to come in our upcoming articles in Passport Magazine, who along with VIP Escapes and Standout Vacations, sponsored this Escape with the Stars.

Okay, that’s enough blogging for now. I can feel the knot returning to between my shoulderblades. We’ll post photos as soon as possible. Thanks for reading. Love, Bronson
