The Supreme Court of California ruled 4-to-3 to strike down state laws that had limited marriages to unions between a man and a woman. California is now the second state, after Massachusetts, to allow same-sex marriages.
“In view of the substance and significance of the fundamental constitutional right to form a family relationship, the California Constitution properly must be interpreted to guarantee this basic civil right to all Californians, whether gay or heterosexual, and to same-sex couples as well as to opposite-sex couples,” wrote Chief Justice Ronald M. George, for the majority.
The Governator said Thursday that he respected the court’s decision and would not support overturning it, according to The Associated Press.
The decision becomes effective in 30 days, and immediately thereafter, on Monday, June 16th, Sam and I will be on our way to getting legally married.

YES, YES, YESSSSSS!!!!
I so will be there! It will be the third happiest day of my life; all three of them are because of you,Son.
I have chanted, prayed and visualized the day when you and Sam would be allowed to register with the World that you two are married in every sense of the word. And what a beautiful example of honest, loving commitment you are.
I could not be prouder…of both of you.
Mom
That is wonderful news!!
Does this mean I can hope to be invited to another ceremony honoring you & Sam? *g*
