In 24 hours or so, I will be dogging a steer in an arena, in front of hundreds of people. My stomach just tightened thinking about it. I’ve felt like an old football coach over the past few days, watching old reels of chute doggers, making mental notes: hold on, out to the line, listen for the whistle, push him right, push him back, throw him off balance, turn left and stay on the outside of the steer, dog him.

It’s going to be great. I’m going to kick ass, and come back a winner. Stay tuned.
